ackerman john 2 1 ppTwin Oaks Consulting, LLC is the incorporated successor to the consulting, engineering and geology practice of John R. Ackerman, P.E., P.G., BCEE, F.NSPE, being incorporated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in June 2012.

John R. Ackerman, Principal Engineer and Geologist, has provided consulting services to public and private clients for more than 39 years, both on his own and with consulting engineering firms. On the environmental site, his projects ranged from a complete design of municipal and industrial wastewater systems, including AMD treatment systems and hazardous waste treatment plants, to process design for improved aeration systems, pumping systems, water treatment systems and odor control, both within the plant and within the collection systems. He also has considerable experience managing private and public infrastructure development projects as former Director of Operations for CAN DO, Inc. and as former City Engineer for the City of Hazleton and large scale site development projects, such as the 1.6 million square foot manufacturing/warehouse complex for the Arm and Hammer Project Independence project in York County, Pennsylvania.

Alfred G. Handy, P.E., Principal - Civil Engineering brings more than 30 years of municipal and transportation engineering to the firm. Besides acting as Township Engineer for several Pennsylvania municipalities, he has performed such special projects as the Pike County, PA, Storm Water Management Act (Act 167) Plan and Analomink Dam Spillway Analysis, Stroud Township, Monroe County, PA. In addition, he managed the Monroe County, PA, Bridge Maintenance Program and acted as Assistant Superintendent of Bridges for Warren County, NJ. On the transportation side, he managed worked on highway projects for the New Jersey Turnpike and the New Jersey and New York Departments of Transportation along with numerous highway and intersection design projects throughout New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He also has aviation infrastructure experience from projects for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
