highway-6New Jersey Turnpike Interchange 1, Toll Plaza Relocation, Deepwater, NJ
Design Project: Developed location study and preliminary design of a proposed mainline barrier toll plaza to replace the existing Interchange 1 Toll Plaza facility on the New Jersey Turnpike. Environmental and engineering constraints were identified. AASHTO and the Turnpike Authority geometric design criteria were followed.

Route 46 and Union Blvd. Totowa, NJ
Design Project/Project Management: Responsible for roadway design and for overall project management including schedule, budget and quality for replacement of the bridge structure over Route 46 at Union Blvd. including the ramp system accessing Union Blvd. Standard NJDOT Metric Design Standards were applied to the project.

Rt. 78, Sec. 5 CD, Peddie Street Ramps, Newark, NJ
Design Project / Project Management: Redesign of the Peddie Street/West Runyon Street ramp system with I-78 and overall project management including schedule, budget and quality. Project included traffic studies, corridor analysis, public meetings, topographic survey, horizontal and vertical design of the ramp system, environmental concerns, and retaining wall design.

Applegarth Road, Township of Monroe Middlesex County NJ
Design Project: Project implemented safety improvements through upgrading the approximate four (4) mile length of Applegarth Road. The project upgraded an existing signalized intersection, resurfaced Applegarth Road, and removed the existing roadside ditches replacing them with an innovative infiltration trench to meet the desired water quality and quantity criteria.  

Washington Township Access Management Plan, NJ
Transportation Study: Project developed an Access Management Plan for Washington Township, NJ in connection with a planned Town Center Development. The project includes traffic analysis, bandwidth analysis, corridor analysis, preliminary design for five intersections, by-pass and widening of Route 130, along with access determination for Route 130.

Pedestrian Safety Study, NJDOT
Project Review & Design: Responsible for the review and comment on NJDOT projects regarding pedestrian and bicycle safety and compatibility. Pedestrian and bicycle improvements based on AASHTO and NJDOT guidelines were recommended on over 30 projects. In addition, the project included the review of the 100 highest pedestrian accident sites throughout the state. Five of the worst sites were chosen, and studied with engineering and planning solutions then developed to increase pedestrian safety at each of the studied intersections.

Bridge Q-40 Replacement and Improvements to Everitts and Reaville Roads, Raritan Township, Hunterdon County, NJ
Design Project: The project for Hunterdon County consisted of realignment and reconstruction of approximately 3,500 linear feet of municipal roadway, one "T" intersection and the replacement of the one lane bridge known as Q-40. The roadway modifications included installation of new catch basins, new horizontal and vertical geometry, new pavement, and pavement markings. The bridge was designed in accordance with the NJDOT, AASHTO, and Hunterdon County standards. Specifications and Cost Estimates were developed.

highway-5Kings Road and Green Avenue Intersection Improvements, Madison, NJ
Design Project: Project contained approximately 2,200 linear feet of municipal roadway with four intersections. The intersection of Kings Road, Waverly Place, and Green Avenue is the major intersection of the project just outside of the Madison Rail Station. The improvements consisted of the construction of new sidewalks, placement of granite curbing, milling and/or the removal of the existing pavement, resurfacing with bituminous pavement, striping, and replacement of the traffic signal at Kings Road and Green Avenue.

Kings Road and Samson Avenue Intersection Improvements, Madison, NJ
Design Project: Project consisted of the complete reconstruction of an un-signalized “T” intersection into a signalized intersection. The work performed included redesigning the profile to increase the sight distance on both roads along with new curb profiles developed as well as typical sections, sidewalks, and the traffic signal. The traffic signal and the signage were designed in accordance with the MUTCD and the applicable NJDOT Standards. The project was reviewed and approved by the NJDOT.

highway-7Route 33 (Corlies Avenue), Township of Neptune, Monmouth County, NJ
Design Project: Responsible for the development and delivery of the Phase I design package for approximately two (2) miles of dualization of Route 33 (Corlies Ave.). Project included the widening of Route 33 and the upgrading of five (5) intersections, three of which required new traffic control signals. The upgrades to Route 33 include the addition of a small shoulder, dedicated turning lanes, property access, utility work, environmental permitting and Historical Society concerns. Route 33 was designed to not impact the surrounding buildings and properties.

Friendship Road Culvert Replacement, Middlesex County
Design Project: Culvert 4-C-528, Friendship Road Spanning a Tributary to Devils Brook located in both Plainsboro and South Brunswick Townships, was replaced by Middlesex County. The design included adjusting the vertical and horizontal alignment of Friendship Road to meet the new culvert opening.

Route 46 and Union Blvd. Totowa, NJ
Design Project / Project Management: Responsible for the overall project management including schedule, budget and quality. Project consisted of replacement of the bridge structure over Route 46 at Union Blvd. including the ramp system accessing Union Blvd. The NJDOT Structures Group was responsible for designing the bridge structure. Coordination with the Structures Group was an essential part of the project. Standard NJDOT Metric Design Standards were applied to this project.

Improvement to the Intersection of Route US 440 and Smith Street: Resurfacing, traffic signal installation and safety improvements
Design Project / Project Management: Responsible for the overall project management including schedule, budget and quality. Project consisted of intersection improvement, which included geometrics, drainage, signalization, resurfacing, etc.

Phillipsburg Bike and Pedestrian Path, Town of Phillipsburg, NJ
Design Project: The project consisted of the preliminary design of approximately two miles of bike path along the Delaware River front for the Town of Phillipsburg. The preliminary design included providing the client with the necessary permit documents to satisfy NJDEP requirements. The documents produced included 106 historic studies, Wetland permit, Stream Encroachment Permit, 4f and 6f studies and a final alternative report. The bike path geometry was designed in accordance with the NJDOT Bicycle Design Manual.

Route 280/Edwards Road Interchange, Parsippany/Troy Hills Township, NJ
Design Project: Responsible for the development of the Phase III and Phase IV final submission to Morris County and the NJDOT for the Edwards Road Interchange with Route 280 (Interchange 1). The project included reconfiguration of the current interchange, the addition of two new ramps, and reconfiguration of the local roadways. Stream encroachment and wetlands permits were obtained.

Bureau of Preliminary Engineering
Design Projects: For the open-ended agreement with NJDOT to develop preliminary concept design throughout Region I of New Jersey. The various tasks performed included the coordination of concept designs of several four-way intersections, drainage studies, and traffic studies for approximately 19 project areas, including the Route 31 corridor, Route 206, and Route 15.

Route 120 Relocation, Preliminary and Phase I Design, East Rutherford, NJ
Design Project: Responsible for the development of the preliminary 200-scale design, Phase I and Phase II Submissions for a 1.5 mile main line relocation of Route 120. The project includes seven (7) miles of ramps, two new interchanges, reconfiguration of the existing Route 120/Route 3 interchange, grade separated access ramp to New Jersey Meadowlands Sports Complex circulation roads, and parking facilities and realignment of the Route 3 eastbound roadway. The proposed Route 120 relocation includes three bridge replacements, one bridge widening and seven new bridges.

Urban Roadway Rehabilitation, Long Island, NY
Design Projects: The design and contract plan preparation for 15 roadway rehabilitation projects ranging in size from four intersecting residential roads to a network of interconnecting secondary and primary roadways within a one mile radius. The rehabilitation designs included horizontal and vertical alignment improvements, typical section improvements, pavement reconstruction and replacement of the existing stormwater drainage systems. Meeting the existing adjacent property profiles placed numerous design constraints on each of the projects located in the western section of Long Island.

Study: Constructability review and preparation of cost estimate for timber sound barriers located at the Interchange of the Northern State Parkway and the Meadowbrook Parkway in Westbury, NY.

Long Island Sunrise Highway Extension, Brookhaven Township, NY
Design Projects: Prepared construction staging plans, performed constructability reviews, and prepared final cost estimate for construction of the final four miles of the Sunrise Highway (NYS Route 27).
