Presentation at 2017 ASCE Innovation Contest The RainMaker is designed to provide very flexible operation.

It is available in trailer mounted units which can treat up to 100,000 gallons per day.

Fixed versions of the unit come in 5 million, 10 million, and 20 million gallon per day modules.

The energy usage  for these units is low enough that sustainable energy sources such as wind and photovoltaic can be utilized.

Twin Oaks Water Systems Inc. is a  startup company owned by Twin Oaks Consulting’s chief engineer, John Ackerman.

The company was started to develop new process equipment conceptualized by Mr. Ackerman for the purpose of desalinating seawater.

The new equipment is called the RainMaker water harvesting system.

The RainMaker is not just for desalinating seawater.

It is an evaporative water harvester which means it can take water from virtually any nonvolatile, water source and obtain potable water suitable for human use.

A list of unconventional water sources follows: seawater; hypersaline waters from fracking and oil and gas product discharges; abandoned mine drainage; municipal wastewater; and contaminated fresh water.
